Schatz tenth at Lawton; Aims big in Arrowhead’s Jason Johnson Classic

BROWNSBURG, Ind. (March 31, 2025) – Ten-time World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series champion, Donny Schatz put together a sound performance in Friday’s Sooner State Showdown at Lawton Speedway in Lawton, Oklahoma, not only advancing five positions to finish tenth, but simultaneously securing his eighth top-ten appearance of the season – all of which accumulated in 13 World of Outlaws starts.
Schatz, driver of the Tony Stewart/Curb-Agajanian Racing, Carquest, Advance Auto Parts, Curb Records, Martin One Source, No. 15 sprint car, launched his evening with the 15th-fastest qualifying time, racing on to finish fifth in his respective heat race. The Fargo, North Dakota, native remains sixth in the World of Outlaws championship standings, trailing leader and defending champion David Gravel by 212 markers.
Schatz’ visit to 81 Speedway in Wichita, Kansas, on Saturday, March 29, was eventually cut short, as high winds made racing conditions too dangerous to continue. The event has been postponed to a later date that has yet to be determined.
The Greatest Show On Dirt will now turn their attention to Arrowhead Speedway’s Jason Johnson Classic set for Friday and Saturday, April 4-5.
