2021 World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series Championship Standings: Fourth | 9176 points (236 points behind championship leader, Brad Sweet)

BROWNSBURG, Ind. (September 27, 2021) – Although ten-time World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series champion, Donny Schatz, was unable to attain his fourth and fifth victories of the 2021 Outlaws campaign, the Fargo, North Dakota-native did accomplish some consistency, concluding stops at Eldora Speedway and Lernerville Speedway with top-five outcomes and highlighting each of his recent starts with a third-place finish in Lernerville’s Commonwealth Clash on September 25.

By way of dash result, Schatz started the Commonwealth Clash 30-lapper in the exact same position as he finished, kicking off the program with the fourth-fastest qualifying time, followed by a heat race victory.

“That’s about as fast as I can ever remember going around this place,” Schatz said of Lernerville Speedway on Saturday night. “We were decent on the bottom, but then it just got so quick around the top. We keep improving little by little, though.”

One night prior to his visit to Western Pennsylvania, Schatz made his presence known in Eldora Speedway’s BeFour the Crowns Showdown, capping the evening with a fourth-place score, but not before leading the first 21 circuits. Despite his attempts to outrun the competition, Hanover, Pennsylvania’s Logan Schuchart came to call, getting by Schatz in traffic on lap 22 before escaping to a $10,000 payday. Schatz would eventually fade to fourth.

Donny Schatz and Tony Stewart/Curb-Agajanian Racing will continue their 2021 World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series campaign with Williams Grove Speedway’s National Open on Friday and Saturday, October 1-2. The two-day blockbuster will be headlined with a $75,000-to-win main event on Saturday; the weekend will ignite with a $10,000 preliminary.

On the hunt for lucky number seven, Donny Schatz is a six-time National Open champion at Williams Grove Speedway, scoring his most recent, also a $75,000 payday, in 2020. The victory was the richest on the 2020 World of Outlaws schedule.
