BROWNSBURG, Ind. (September 3, 2024) – A not-so great start resulted in a near-perfect outcome for Donny Schatz and Tony Stewart/Curb-Agajanian Racing, capping Huset’s Speedway’s premier High Bank Nationals with a top-five outcome on Sunday, September 1 – a perfect rebound after an incident erased hope for victory in Friday’s Huset’s Hustle weekend opener. For Schatz, a ten-time World of Outlaws champion who is currently second in the 2024 title chase, the top-five will prove vital, setting aim west on a three-week visit to the Golden State beginning Friday at the Stockton Dirt Track.

In addition, Schatz, ace of the Carquest, Advance Auto Parts, Ford Performance, Curb Records, Sage Fruit, Elliott’s Custom Trailers & Carts, Mobil 1, Hoosier, VP Racing Fuels & Tub ‘O Towels, No. 15 sprint car, finished third in the High Bank Nationals opener on Saturday, August 31, improving one spot from fourth after utilizing a heat race victory to set the evening’s tone.

“All in all the guys did a great job,” Schatz said of Saturday’s performance. “A big positive over last night. The Carquest guys, everybody helped dig us out of a big hole to put us in a good spot for tomorrow. So, now we go back and discuss what we need to do for tomorrow and go from there.”

As noted, the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series will now turn their attention to the West Coast, spending three consecutive weekends in sunny California before wrapping things up at Tulare’s Thunderbowl Raceway on Saturday, September 21. Schatz will roll into the California swing second in the current championship chase padded by 43 top-tens in 50 point-earning starts. The Fargo, North Dakota, native owns four victories in his 28th season with the Greatest Show On Dirt.
